All I see is that:
1. IPAD bearing guys and sit beside a hot babe (HB) on the poolside in silence.
2. Kindle bearing hot babes can and will sit beside a guy in a pool with vacant lounges.
3. IPAD bearing guys have a great conversation piece in their difficulty to read on their IPAD, hence disarming the babe into making decent conversation.  There's no use to be nervous anymore!
